Individuals in support of preserving and protecting the only year-round fresh drinking water in the Stampriet Artesian Basin from pollution caused by proposed in situ leach mining of uranium – YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!
The Environmental Commissioner from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) has uploaded 15 more applications for the renewal of Environmental Clearance Certificates to be issued to enable extended exploration for uranium in the Stampriet Artesian Basin. This is in addition to the 8 applications received on behalf of the Mining Proponent, Headspring Investments, in search of uranium from within our drinking water.
A total of 23 EPL’s currently thus require a renewal of their Environmental Clearance Certificates:
8 x Headspring Investments
9 x Green Mining
6 x Uraplant Mining
In our effort to protect our only source of drinking water from pollution, we need YOUR HELP.
